Development of Zn-Al-Mg Coated Steel in China
Zinc aluminum magnesium coated steel was originated in Japan and became popular since 1990s.
Afterwards, many international steel companies registered their own representative names for this product: SuperDyma (NSSMC), ZAM (NISSHIN), Magnelis (ArcelorMittal), PosMAC (POSCO), ZINCALUME (Bluescope), etc.
In China, it's called Zn-Al-Mg (coated) steel.
Although the names are different, they are actually the same product, just the content ratio of zinc, aluminum and magnesium is different.
In recent years, Zn-Al-Mg steel grows quite rapidly.
It is because, firstly, new energy projects have increased much more than before, and Zn-Al-Mg steel is the main building material of photovoltaic support bracket. Secondly, the price of it is only 20-50 USD/MT higher than that of galvanized steel, but its performance is improved by five to twelve times.
The entire Zn-Al-Mg steel industry and production plants have sprung up like mushrooms after a rain, and the quality of mainstream factory products has also been significantly improved compared to before.
However, there will always be disadvantages to developing too fast. There are still uneven quality in the market.
Some are used to make real building materials and some are used to make industrial materials.
Buyers should pay attention when purchasing.

The producible thickness range is 0.14-6.0mm, till the end of this year, it can reach 8.0mm.
Width is mostly more than 1000mm, maximum 1680mm. Zn-Al-Mg coating is 40-600g/m².
